Broody Silkie

Yes, we have a broody hen! What does that mean? I don’t know, but it is what the chicken people say. Lol

Had to look up the word broody to see what the definition really is.
Broody
adj broodier, broodiest
1. moody; meditative; introspective
2. (Life Sciences & Allied Applications / Breeds) (of poultry) wishing to sit on or hatch eggs
3. Informal (of a woman) wishing to have a baby of her own

So pretty little Silkie wants to sit in her eggs and hatch some chicks. This is awesome because the incubator is full and I can’t bear to waste those eggs!!

So now I wait and watch. 21 days. I will mark the eggs that are under her when she gets up. This way as new eggs are lauded I can collect them. To want the nest too full.
